What is osteopathy?
Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment which works with the structure and function of the body, to treat a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions.
Maintenance of optimal mechanical function is essential to health. Problems in the body structure for example a restricted joint, slipped disc, tight muscle, or a ligament strain can affect any aspect of health, as function is disrupted.
Osteopaths, using gentle hands on techniques, aim to return the structure and function of the body to as near a state of balance as possible to restore the whole person to a state of good health.
We provide advise on exercises, posture and lifestyle changes to aid recovery, promote health and prevent problems reoccurring.
Osteopaths assess and treat people of all age from the elderly to the newborn and from pregnant women to sports people.
The Osteopathic profession is regulated by the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) and are recognised as an allied health profession by NHS England.
